Have you always wanted to write a play? Or maybe you just want to know what it’s all about – this playwriting thing. Join Catherine as we examine what makes a play. We’ll talk about types of plays from narrative to abstract, comedy to tragedy. We’ll look at structure, character and the all-important dramatic arc. Before we break for a brief lunch, Catherine will give you writing prompts to write a scene for yourself. You can think about what you’ll write while you eat or just chat with your fellow classmates. In the second half of the class we’ll take time to write and then, for those that wish, we’ll read pages aloud.
